- I enjoy working with museums, galleries, and other cultural organizations to develop ambitious research and publication strategies from concept to realization.
- I am committed to fostering collaboration between the Higher Education and the Heritage sectors, especially Museums and Galleries, in the areas of research and learning & teaching.
- I provide specialist historical advice for museums and the media.
Some examples of recent work—
As Research Curator, I helped conceptualize, develop, and deliver the internationally acclaimed exhibition Nelson & Napoléon at Britain’s National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, in 2005.
I directed a series of workshops on ‘Researching Together’ between National Museums Liverpool and the University of Liverpool. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), the project was designed to foster research collaboration between curators in a national museum group and university-based scholars across numerous departments.
I have advised a variety of cultural organizations on research and publication strategy, including the Royal Academy of Arts
As a historical consultant I have worked with the BBC on Simon Schama’s A History of Britain and on programs on culture and art in the eighteenth century.
